An international flavour to studying business and management

TLDRoffon

If you’re interested in coming to the UK to study Business, look no further than the University of Greenwich.

Our degrees range from general business courses to specialist subject areas such as Purchasing and Supply Chain Management, Transport and Logistics, and Entrepreneurship and Innovation. You'll gain the knowledge and skills for an exciting career in business.

Our research and teaching interests cover a considerable number of management disciplines. These include information management, project management, strategic management, operations management, supply chain management, logistics management, and entrepreneurship.

We have staff with expertise and research as well as industry track record.

An International cohort

We are a truly international department. This is reflected in our student body and in our courses.

In 2019-2020, 65% of the undergraduate student population in the Department of Systems Management and Strategy came from overseas, with 192 (23%) coming from China.

Over the last year, we have organised a series of student cultural events to celebrate our student community. These include a Chinese New Year celebration and an Italian Evening.

Many of our modules at undergraduate level – especially International Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Small Business Development, and Thematic Independent Studies – use industry case studies from across the world.

You'll discover more about international practice by discussing these cases with fellow students who come from the relevant countries. Everyone benefits from a rounded learning experience that is underpinned by the diversity of our student body.

International student experience

You will also benefit from a new student-led Learning Community in the Department of Systems Management and Strategy which organises social and extra-curricular activities.

One of its objectives is to support entrepreneurial graduates. Last year, the community helped students to build entrepreneurial behaviours by showcasing their business ideas and networking with alumni and community start-ups.

These events and the collaboration with peers helps our students to build confidence, explore their potential, and build extra skills and insight for the real business world.

The Faculty of Business also supports an Enterprise Challenge competition, where students are encouraged to build innovative business and social enterprise ideas and compete for funding for their own start-ups.
